Since its inception nearly four decades ago, hip-hop has become the most influential type of music in the world. It has spread from the streets of New York City to every corner of the globe – influencing fashion, culture and even politics.

Unfortunately, far too much of the hip-hop music created today is not what you would call “family friendly.” A significant amount of it glorifies misogyny, violence and self-destructive behavior.

But it doesn’t have to be that way. There is a segment of hip hop music that aims to have a positive impact on people’s lives. It’s known as Christian Hip Hop music, and there is a radio station in Columbia that specializes in it -- Millennial FM 95.9.

Kevin "Big Redd" Felder has started a new movement for independent artist in South Carolina. It's called the Indie Ground.

The Official music video for his track ‘Big Jesus’ dropped today and is packed with dopeness. Big Redd says his music is “inspired by the negative impact of mainstream rap on the world’s young adults.”

He is also a Christian rap-recording artist, and his songs play in events and radio stations all across the world. Ladies and gentlemen, meet Kevin Felder, or shall we say, Big Redd?
